Deidre's Measuring Instructions
We need the following measurements in order to properly size you for your special order garment:
1.BUST: Please measure over an unpadded bra at the fullest part.
2.WAIST: Measure at your natural waist (this is the smallest part) and is located at the soft part just above your hip.
3.HIPS: Measure around the fullest part of your hips.
4.HEIGHT: We need your height only if over 5'8".
(Please note: You should NOT be wearing heavy or padded clothing while taking your measurements and if at all possible, we recommend that you go to a bridal store to be professionally measured.)
Always make sure the measuring tape is pulled taut but not so tight as to indent the skin. It is also very important to make sure the tape is level when measuring.
We will match up your measurements with the appropriate vendor size chart and order you the size that most closely matches your measurements.
Please keep in mind that formal gowns typically run at least one size smaller than street clothes. Also, we will need to order you the size that will be the best overall fit. In other words, if your bust puts you in a size 10 but your waist indicates that you need a 12, we will order the 12 and the dress will need to be taken in at the bust. This is because it is much easier to take in a dress than let it out.
Typically, most of the gowns are long enough to fit girls that are 5'8" and shorter. Most companies charge an additional premium for extra length.
